You may remember Becca and Waseem from their Rock Creek Park engagement session last fall (see it here!). These two are full of energy and really know how to have a great time. They even had 3 weddings! On top of wine for the guests during the ceremony, incredible dancers during the reception, and amazing cupcakes, they even had a surprise visit by a gorilla! Congratulations you two! Enjoy the photos!
One thing I love about shooting weddings is each one is so different and unique. Christine & Scott had a beautifully small and intimate wedding planned, and I could not wait to photograph it. The fall colors were just starting to come out, and everything was just perfect for their ceremony at the Lee-Fendall House and reception dinner at Nora Restaurant. Thank you for having me be part of your day. Here are a few favorites.
We were really excited to see these two again after their DC winter engagement shoot (see here!). Their reception was to be at a favorite place of ours, Glen Echo Park, which alway has a never ending assortment of things to explore and unique photo opportunities seem to always pop up. Plus… We were in for a surprise. After an exciting time getting ready at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC, we visited St Aloysius Gonzaga Church for the ceremony. As we headed to their reception in Glen Echo, a few storms appeared to be rolling in. Little did we know shortly after arriving there was time for just a few minutes of outdoor images before a huge storm hit! At the peak of the downpour Emily & Tom braved it enough to grab an umbrella and trust Tara and I to create something special in the rain. What actually transpired.. well, you will just have to scroll down to see!
Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Meredith & Patrick and shooting their Old Town Alexandria engagement photos (see them here!) I had a feeling their wedding would be full of truly great people who knew how to have fun, and I was correct! Tara and I met them both on the morning of their wedding day at the Lorien Hotel & Spa in Alexandria, VA. The remainder of their day took place at a familiar venue, Stone Manor Country Club in Middleton, Maryland. A really beautiful ceremony transformed into a night of laughter, dancing, and plenty of those awesome moments we loved capturing.

Here are a few that we liked. Enjoy!
You might remember Carrie and Mark from their Old Town, Alexandria, VA engagement session earlier in the year.If you missed it, see it here! These two had an incredible wedding surrounded by their family and friends in Alexandria, VA. After getting ready, they headed to Christ Church. The ceremony was fabulous and afterward the celebration continued at The George Washington Masonic National Memorial! Congratulations you two! Enjoy the photos.
As a photographer it’s always exciting when I have an opportunity to shoot at new places, especially when the locations are on my list to take the photography to a new unseen level. This was the case for both their engagement session at the Navy Yard (see it here!), and their beautiful wedding at the new Artisphere in Arlington. This, coupled with their cool and fun personality really made it a great time throughout their entire wedding day. We started off at the Hyatt, headed to United Methodist Temple for the ceremony, explored the local Arlington Gateway Park, and finished with a bang at Artisphere.
These were some that I liked. Enjoy!
Jennifer and Brian had such a beautiful wedding! Jennifer started her day getting ready with her bridesmaids at the Washington Hilton near DuPont Circle, while Brian and his groomsmen got ready at their house nearby. The ceremony took place at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was followed by a fun reception at St. Francis Hall located next to the famous Franciscan Monastery in Washington, DC. The gardens were gorgeous and made the perfect background for Jennifer and Brian’s wedding photographs. Congratulations to a great couple! Enjoy the photos! Tara and Jeff Photography always strive for something special and striking when clients choose us specifically for our modern, classic, and creative photography. Kyra and Jason knew their wedding would be incredible and wanted the photographs to showcase the elements of their special day. We started off with the couple getting ready at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, DC. The rooms were spacious for Kyra’s bridal party, and had a great modern look and feel. Afterward, we headed to one of the couple’s favorite DC monuments, the Lincoln Memorial. Despite thousands of people everywhere on one of the first amazing spring days of the year, we were able to capture some beautiful bridal portraits of Kyra and Jason with careful timing, posing, and lighting. They also received many wedding wishes from the memorial visitors. After leaving the Lincoln Memorial, we arrived at the infamous National Museum of Women in the Arts for the ceremony and reception. The dinner tables were set up on the balcony overlooking the dance floor and bar which served Kyra and Jason’s signature drinks. The wedding was a wonderful combination of people, incredible locations, and wedding details. Check out some of our favorite images. Congratulations to Kyra and Jason. Enjoy the photos!
